The show presented by Justin Timberlake and Chris Stapleton at CMA might be the greatest ever

In a momentous collaboration, Justin Timberlake and Chris Stapleton performed their version of “Tennessee Whiskey/Drink You Away” at the 2015 Country Music Association Awards (CMA). The performance left the audience in awe with the unique blend of country and pop music.

The duo’s performance started with a slow-tempo rendition of “Tennessee Whiskey,” originally recorded by George Jones in 1983, showcasing Stapleton’s soulful voice and guitar skills. Timberlake joined in halfway through the song, adding his vocal range to the mix. Stapleton then kicked off “Drink You Away,” a track from Timberlake’s album “The 20/20 Experience – 2 of 2,” with Timberlake following up on guitar and vocals. The performance ended with a high-energy finale, leaving the crowd chanting for more.

The performance earned critical acclaim, with many hailing it as one of the best moments of the CMA awards that year. It also led to a surge in sales for both songs, with “Tennessee Whiskey” reaching number one on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart and “Drink You Away” entering the top 40.

The success of the collaboration didn’t stop there. In 2018, Timberlake invited Stapleton to perform with him again at the Brit Awards in London, where they performed a rendition of “Say Something.” Their musical partnership has continued to grow, with the two singers sharing mutual respect and admiration for each other’s talents.
