A two-legged stray mother provides care for her homeless family

In China, a two-legged stray has given birth to pups, and despite her condition, she looks for her family and ensures that none of her babies are in danger.

We know that animals are tenacious, and that they often adapt to their surroundings in order to live as best as they can. After all, there are many homeless dogs in the world that fight every day to find food and shelter, but it always surprises us how homeless dogs with impairments are also ready to flourish and endure life on the streets.

The momma is understood as Shi Bao, and she or he wasn’t always homeless. Her owner abandoned her and she or he took refuge near Kouguan railroad station in Datong, Shanxi Province. Unfortunately she lost her hind legs in an accident. Locals believe she was either hit by a car or run over by a train, but either way, she survived and has been fending for herself ever since.

Shi Bao recently gave birth to healthy, beautiful puppies. Every day, the two-legged momma guides her babies round the railway station while they scavenge for food. The heroic mom makes sure her children are always near her and much from harm.

We know animals in China aren’t also protected by laws as other animals in other countries, but we hope that Shi Bao and her babies find an honest Samaritan or animal rescue organization that might take them in put an end to their lonely and harsh days on the streets. All animals deserve a loving home and Shi Bao has proved she is deserve true love and a happily ever after.

China has an estimated 130 million stray dogs – many them victims of a growing urbanisation that has seen many people enter high-rise buildings with little room for pets.

It’s a tough life on the road for several of the dogs. also as state extermination campaigns in many cities, there’s also widespread abuse of strays by members of the general public , and therefore the risk of being captured for dog meat or succumbing to hunger and disease.
